When To Use Eye Drops

By Chet Sandeksi

If you own a gun and frequently like to hunt animals with it, it would be in your benefit to understand more about eye dominance in order to hone and perfect your skills. It would also help you avoid any incidents, such as when Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot a colleague near the heart.

On the contrary, you never know when you will need vision insurance. That's why you should start shopping around through the various vision health plans if you haven't done so already. Your eyes are too important for you to leave anything up to chance.

The last thing you want to do is use the wrong type of eye drops on your eye. Since each type of eye drop is intended for a particular problem, you have to first figure out the problem before you can determine which product you can use.

Sometimes you might find that your doctor tells you that eye drops aren't the way to go. They could do more harm than good. This is why you should consult with them before you decide to start any regimen involving your eyes.

Everyone's eyes are just a little bit different, and the left, right, or both eyes may be your dominant eye(s). There are tests that you can have performed to know which one is your dominant eye. It is helpful to know while hunting, as is knowing the certain techniques to use in certain situations. If you have been diagnosed, use your absolute dominant eye to look down the rib of the gun. Keep both of your eyes open and focused on the bird. From there you will be able to get your best shot.

With your hands or a piece of paper, create a hole like a lens or scope that you can see the object through. Slowly bring the hole closer to your face and it will naturally end up circling your dominant eye. You can also hold up your thumb to cover the selected object and move your thumb closer to your face, keeping the object blocked, to determine which eye you are using.

True cross-dominance means that you have the opposite dominant hand as eye, for example you may be right-handed but have a dominant left eye. This can confuse you while hunting which is why it essential to have your eyes tested. If this is the case for you, close entirely your eye that isn't dominant.

Even though you might have it in your head that you can get back in the game, you should take it easy and consult with your doctor every step of the way. You will be able to get recommendations from them as to how you should proceed to aid in your recovery. You will feel tempted to go against their word, but you should avoid that temptation at all costs. It's something that could do more harm than good to your eyes in the long run. Throughout the process of correcting your vision, you need to keep an eye towards the future rather than your ability to get back to your life without restrictions right now.
